October 2022 – AEA Electricity Buying Group selected New Brunswick Power as their preferred electricity supplier.

September 2022 – AEA reviews competitive bids for its Electricity Buying Group’s aggregated supply needs.

June 2022 – A Request for Quotation Letter for electricity supply was finalized and a list of participating members were identified.

December 2020 – AEA sent a Letter to the Maine Governor’s Energy Office to request its review of the complete impact of LD-1495 and what the ensuing influx of solar energy entering Maine’s grid will have on our present electricity infrastructure and ratepayers not participating in such projects.

August 2019 – AEA Electricity Buying Group selected Algonquin Energy Services as their preferred electricity supplier.

June 2019 – AEA reviews competitive bids for its Electricity Buying Group’s aggregated supply needs.

March 2019 – AEA continues work to obtain competitive bids for aggregated electricity supply for its participating members.

October 2018 – Potential electricity supply quotes are being sought.

August 2018 – A Request for Quotation Letter for electricity supply was finalized and a list of participating members were identified.

June 2018 – During its June 27, 2018 Directors Meeting, AEA reviewed the consolidated results of submitted applications to participate in an Electricity Supply Buying Group created and sponsored by the AEA for its Members.  A special Aggregation Committee was formed to develop a Request For Quotation (RFQ) to be sent to potential Energy Brokers.  This committee will develop the terms, conditions and cost savings objectives of potential supply agreements for the benefit of its participants.  AEA has targeted September 2018 as a time frame to secure Electricity Supply proposals for consideration by its Buying Group.

May 2018 – AEA has circulated an Electricity Supply Aggregation form to gather interest from its Members for a proposal to purchase electricity under group pricing and terms.  AEA will form an Electricity Supply Aggregation Committee at its next meeting in June.  The committee will be responsible for developing a process to obtain quotations and organize participation.
